Our Mission and the Future We Envision

Our Mission

Shaping the future of healthcare

Medley leverages technology to enable a more sustainable, trusted healthcare system—connecting patients in need to high-quality care while earning the trust of individuals and their families.

To address the most critical healthcare challenges of the next 10 to 20 years, it is essential to build a healthcare system that works better for patients, healthcare providers, and governments alike.

We envision a future where patients navigate healthcare with confidence, providers operate efficiently, and governments allocate healthcare resources optimally. By accelerating digital transformation to radically improve efficiency at scale, Medley delivers on its commitment to tackling healthcare's most critical challenges.

Delivering Greater Value, Faster

We recognize several intensifying healthcare issues that must be addressed: workforce shortages and geographic disparities; delayed digital transformation; and deteriorating patient experiences driven by tedious processes and long wait times.

By expanding access to digital healthcare tools, Medley dramatically improves operational efficiency, thus addressing these challenges and enabling patients and individuals to better access and benefit from advances in medicine and healthcare services.

Healthcare challenges often intersect with pivotal moments that can carry profound personal impact. Knowing this, we consistently seek to deliver meaningful help to as many people as we can, as quickly as we can, and at as great a scale as we can. United by our mission—to shape the future of healthcare—Medley has grown alongside members who share our commitment to solving these challenges.

Our founding business, JobMedley, launched in 2009 as a recruitment platform for medical and nursing care professionals. Today, it's used by about 38%* of healthcare facilities and 26%* of healthcare workers in Japan, making JobMedley a key part of Japan's healthcare infrastructure.

In addition, Medley operates a portfolio of highly distinctive services that address social and individual needs. These include the Medical Encyclopedia MEDLEY, a part of our CSR initiatives promoting access to better medical information, and CLINICS, which helped pioneer Japan's telemedicine market.

To accelerate further growth, Medley also drives expansion through in-house product development as well as strategic M&A, bringing services such as MALL, MINET, Lalune, GUPPY, @link, and MEDIXS into the Medley Group. At the same time, we actively pursue open innovation—incorporating advanced technologies, ideas, and expertise from external partners.

By collaborating across organizational boundaries, we work as one to tackle healthcare challenges.

Building an Organization That Brings Global Experts Together—And Creates the Greatest Impact

As we bring together diverse experts to solve complex challenges and further our mission, we are also implementing the following initiatives to become ONE MEDLEY—a truly unified group.

1. Our Essentials: Core Behavioral Principles

Each organization that joins Medley brings its own unique culture. We value and respect these differences, while also aligning around shared core behavioral principles.

Our Essentials serve as the foundation for daily decision-making and actions for every employee. They emphasize independent thinking, proactive problem-solving, and collaboration to achieve results. These principles are also embedded in key processes such as recruitment and performance evaluations.

For companies that have recently joined the Medley Group, as well as those overseas, we implement MOEE (Monthly Our Essentials Evaluation) to assess and provide feedback on how these principles are practiced, ensuring they are deeply embedded across each organization.

2. Global One: Organizational Design Concept

Medley's organizational design is guided by the concept of Global One—a framework that enables unified governance across acquired and internally developed products, both local and global.

Because Medley and the companies joining the Medley Group primarily operate software-based businesses, we follow a function-based governance model rather than an entity-based one. Under Global One, we standardize rules, systems, and processes for corporate functions such as HR, legal, finance, and IT across integrated subsidiaries. This approach enables faster decision-making, greater operational efficiency, and improved service quality.

Global One applies to subsidiaries operated in an integrated manner. Subsidiaries with materially different business models, operating structures, or cultures are independently managed, and therefore outside the scope of this framework.

3. Welcoming Global Expertise

Since 2023, Medley has expanded internationally, establishing operations in the United States and the Philippines. In the U.S., an aging population and a retiring healthcare workforce have intensified recruitment and retention challenges—pressures further amplified by COVID-19. Leveraging the combined healthcare and technological expertise Medley developed in Japan—one of the world's most advanced aging societies—we launched Jobley, a healthcare recruitment platform for the U.S. market.

To support our international expansion, we established MEDLEY US, Inc. in Bellevue, Washington, and Medley Philippines Inc. in Manila as a global operations hub to support our medium- to long-term growth.

By bringing together global experts, Medley aims to address healthcare challenges not only in Japan, but across the world.

4. Building Alignment Through Internal Communication

Medley values internal communication to strengthen alignment across the organization.

Each business unit holds regular meetings to foster motivation and engagement. We also hold company wide events such as the ONE MEDLEY MEETING (a quarterly all-hands meeting followed by a social gathering) and the ONE MEDLEY YEAR-END PARTY. These events are designed to reinforce Our Essentials, connect our people, and cultivate a shared sense of unity across the group.
